## Proposition
Two robotic arms turn a sheet of silk into a visible contest of timing, force, cooperation, and weather.

## Description
Airy stages a simple scene: two white industrial arms face each other across a lightweight sheet. Their movements lift, snap, delay, and release the fabric. A forest image moves across the silk, and the room's weather changes with the robots' timing.

The work does not ask viewers to read code. It gives them a material event they already understand in the body. A bedsheet rises cleanly, stalls, trembles, or falls. The motion suggests agreement, hesitation, rivalry, or recovery.

The fabric becomes the place where machine intention appears. It is not a backdrop. It is the shared body through which the robots declare conflict and coordination.

## Viewer Entry
A viewer enters a darkened room and watches two machines handle a familiar material. The sheet offers an immediate point of reading. When it lifts, the action feels successful. When the timing splits, the fabric shows strain before any explanation is needed. Weather and forest imagery translate that timing into atmosphere.

## Apparatus
Each arm follows a fixed learned policy. The arms share present-tense signals, not future plans. Their coordination emerges through timing, phase, and force. Height is measured as a public metric, while timing relations drive the projected sky. Clear weather marks alignment. Storm logic marks conflict. Safety appears as a softened motion and a blue hush.

## Sections
### The Sheet as Interface
The silk makes small machine decisions visible. A slight delay, a sharper pull, or a mistimed snap changes the whole surface. The viewer reads the robots through the fabric before reading any system description.

### Height as Score
The installation gives the contest a clear measure: who lifts higher. This simple metric turns machine optimization into a public event, closer to a sport or choreographic trial than a technical display.

### Timing Becomes Weather
When the arms move in step, the forest opens toward clear sky. When timing drifts, clouds, mist, wind, or storm arrive. Weather becomes the room's way of naming cooperation and conflict.

### Five Episodes
The paper identifies recurring states such as Clear Ascent, Suspended Negotiation, Competitive Whiplash, Recovery Spiral, and Safety Eclipse. In the installation, these states are encountered as visual episodes rather than abstract data.

### The Audience as Sense Maker
Viewers bring bodily memory to the work. The action of snapping a sheet is familiar enough that spectators can anticipate success or failure before the system explains itself.
